Cozy restaurant and the garden inside is just so japanese. Food and service were great. Love the katsu! Oh and some dishes have free rice and cabbage refills.

Was a good place to eat, very friendly to foreigners, they even gave us free tea with the meal and cold tea after. Not sure if this is common but it was nice.

Must go to after a long walk at Nara, to replenish energy and taste good Japanese food! I highly recommend the black pork and shrimp set so that you get to try 2 varieties. The other set with black pork, crab croquette and pork rolled in cheese is also good. Cabbage, miso soup and rice can be refilled. Very good service but no wonder because you can see the employees being very happy and friendly with one another!Oh and by the way, they also sell baumkuchen!

Good tonkatsu place. So many dishes to choose from. Good service reasonable price. Food came a bit slow but bearable.

Taste was good and best service. We ate full of our stomach. Lovely ladies serve the food with their heart. Free refill cabbage and miso soup. The cool tea will soak your dried lips. Will feel happy. Limited English. Good luck

Hot fresh yummy. I even had some vegetables with mine. Free refill on rice and cabbage. Gave my daughter a toy. Make your own sauce at the table.

For the money you paid for the authentic black pork cutlet rice is definitely worth it. Refillable rice, salad and miso soup. Staffs onsite is polite and helpful as well. Will explain to you clearly how to make the sauce to get the best experience for dining here.

We read good things about this tonkatsu place online and decided to eat dinner here after visiting Nara Park. The pork loin tonkatsu is very tender and delicious. The shrimp is fresh and yummy! The service, topnotch! The servers are very friendly and accomodating. Highly recommended.

Vibrant place with delicious food.

Quick and very friendly service! We sat in the tatami room which was at the back of the restaurant and beside the terrace. Food was delicious and were in big portions. Would definitely come back!

Fantastic chicken and pork katsu here. Just what you need after a long walk around the park and temples. The staff are wonderfully welcoming. Many sauces to pick from. As others have said, the meats are super succulent but with a ridiculously crispy outer coating! Go hungry, big portions and extra bits :) also good tea

Definitely worth it for the portion and service you get. Tonkatsu was crispy and juicy. Also recommend the Kaki Fry! Plump and juicy oysters coated in crispy bread crumbs. You get free refills for the salad too.

Today I learned that it isn't easy to find a good place for lunch in Nara. Everywhere I went have been lines in front of the door.In this case I can say that it is worth the wait, as this was easily one of the best Tonkatsu I ate in Japan.The inside of the restaurant is comfortable with good atmosphere. Even when every place was taken, it wasn't overly loud. The prices for the meals seemed to me on par with other Tonkatsu restaurants I have been before.The staff was very forthcoming and friendly. I consider this in this case as a big accomplishment, when they have to handle such hordes of customers every day.Clear recommendation from my side.

Tonkatsu delicate yet fatty pork in delicate yet crispy breading fried to golden perfection.

Delicious katsu. Get the pork fillet as the other piece can be a bit dry. Their sauces definitely highlight the strengths of their dishes. Get the fried oysters as well; super yummy. Portions could be a bit larger tho you get unlimited cabbage and rice.

Homaygwad! I really can't take a very hearty... This place is heaven! The staff are very nich amd friendly. Very reasonable price considering its large serving! Everything was delicious from crab croquette to tempura! The shredded cabbage, rice and tea are refillable.. It's just that my stomach is very very full already.

My husband and I just found this place by accident and it was fantastic. Great value, filling and really yummy. There were lots of options, prawn, veges, oysters and all different types of pork. My husband got the pork curry and I got the mixed seafood dish. Both were delicious but I think my dish was better value as it came with miso as well. I would definitely go back!!

The food is delicious but average. The service is very fast. The English menu is available. A little busy at lunchtime. Have to wait a little bit in line before entering the restaurant. The staff is very professional.

The restaurant was so nice and the staff was able to speak English too. We had a table in front of the big window that show a small garden, it was really nice.The food portions were so big and the price was right. Free cold tea as usual. After a whole day spent walking it was really relaxing eating there. Staff was really nice too.

Food and service were fast. Food was prepared well and was quite nice - nothing outstanding, however the portions were generous.There was quite a wait in line when we went, however I’d suggest that it wasn’t worth waiting for a seat if there’s another restaurant close by with the same dishes and no line. However, if there’s no line, it’s worth it if you’re hungry.

Skip it. It was not good at all. The meat I ordered was impossible to eat. Just a waste of money (yeah and it’s expensive)

You have to be quick if you want to see the inside of the restaurant, so quick is the service. You can be in and out within 20 minutes or so. The food is what you'd expect from fried porc, beef or prawns.
